I build the services behind the screen. Most of my time goes to the backend. I take a large application apart and put it back together as services that can be deployed, found, and trusted on their own.

What I work in

Java and Spring Boot for the APIs. Docker so a service can move. AWS for where it runs. Angular when the work needs a screen in front of it.

The daily problems are the unglamorous ones: splitting a monolith, keeping a gateway from becoming a single point of failure, and getting data to the right service without dragging the whole system along.

New Concepts Development

Senior Java developer in Bakersfield. I distribute work across cloud services, stand up discovery with Eureka, and build the API gateway and the Spring Boot services behind it. The Angular apps in front of that work ship from Amazon S3.

A remote stretch of modernization work. Angular, Java, and Spring Boot for natural-resource systems, with the issues tracked in GitHub and the progress written up each month.

Where I started, as a full stack developer. Client-facing and in-house web apps, deployed on AWS, with Java and Akka spreading work across EC2 instances.
